The original Band’s final performance, in San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom, was called The Last Waltz, and set the standard by which all farewell concerts are measured. Courtesy of music by The “The Band” Band, and great food by Jim Thorpe’s 14-Acre Farm, we celebrate that great night back in 1976!
The Band produced some of the most original and soulful music that set the standard for contemporary music in America with classics like “Up on Cripple Creek,” “The Weight,” “Ophelia,” “It Makes No Difference,” and “I Shall Be Released.”
The Last Waltz Celebration features The ‘The Band’ Band, as well as the full 3-piece horn section. One in the audience last summer said “I forgot how much I loved The Band!”
As with the original Last Waltz, when Bill Graham catered the show to acknowledge the making of a classic and historic event, the Opera House will serve hors d’oeuvre by 14-Acre Farm.
