John McEuen and the Circle Band, John’s unique cast of iconic Americana string wizards, share the music and memories of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s incredible 50-year career and the landmark Will the Circle Be Unbroken platinum album, initiated by John.
With narrative and music of early NGDB, founding member John McEuen takes us on their incredible journey – interwoven with Nitty Gritty favorites, hot bluegrass, rarely heard NGDB early classics, Carter Family music, all in a multi-media presentation that features archival footage – and some new classics from his new album on Chesky Records – Made in Brooklyn – which was Stereophile Magazine’s winner of Record of the Month.
Providing support is the terrific folksinger, Caroline Doctorow, a chart-topping folksinger and songwriter, with a stirring voice that recalls the great folksingers of the ’60s era. In addition to eleven solo albums, she released the first retrospective of the work of folk icons Richard and Mimi Fariña titled “Another Country.” She is the daughter of the late, world-renowned author E.L. Doctorow.
VIP ticketholders, in addition to particularly excellent seats (in the first 4 rows, center section) for the performance itself, get admittance for sound check (time to be announced) and a meet-and-greet with John McEuen, before the concert.
